STENOGRAPHY

Pitman shorthand has been briefly but accurately defined as “the art of representing spoken sounds by character; a system of shorthand.” Pitman shorthand is a system of shorthand for the English language developed by Englishman Sir Isaac Pitman (1813–1897). Like most systems of shorthand, it is a phonetic system; the symbols do not represent letters, but rather sounds, and words are, for the most part, written as they are spoken. In Pitman Shorthand, speed and facility of writing are achieved by following a coherent and comprehensive method.

We would impart the training in shorthand through the Pitman shorthand technique leading to a speed of 80 words per minute in shorthand and 40 words per minute in typewriting with emphasis on English Communication skill.
